Plenty of restaurants in Alghero, tho limited in Fertilia. Highly recommend boat trip aboard sailing boat the Andrea Jensen & visit to Grotta di Netturno cave system.

Really friendly helpful and supportive staff. This is a country style hotel - so those seeking a busy environment would be disappointed. Suits those seeking a peaceful and explorative trip. Very handy for the airport. Fabulous doberman dog on the premises called ARGOS!.

Top Tip

Fertilia ia quiet - especialy when we were there in October. Enjoyed all the restaurants we went to and also enjoyed a meal provided at the hotel (additional cost) Stintino and the nearby beach are not to be missed. A car is absolutely essential though. We visited the caves by driving there and climbing down the steps - you do need to be fit - but it is a good way to see them if you don't care for boats. Visited the mountains/hills around Tempio and enjoyed the moonscape type appearance of the area. "Green train" not running from Nulvi to Tempio in Oct. so we followed the route by car and it was amazing. Also drove to Bosa and enjoyed the hairy hairpins - Bosa attractive when we got there. There is a small charge to see the castle from which the views are incredible.

Room small had to step over our suitcases to get into bed!!! No English TV Channels.Towels only changed every 3 days.Terrible breakfast.Clean however and Anna the owner very nice.

This is a basic clean hotel with limited facilities but ideal for late arrivals into Alghero airport or for those who would rather be a little way out of it all, only 10 minutes drive into Alghero. You definitely need a car to stay here.

additional charge of £4 a day for air conditioning. Rooms quite small but location ideal for airport.Need a car to move around. The short (600 metres) walk into Fertila is along a busy unlit main road without any pavements.

We were really not happy with the Light blue hotel, when we first arrived we were told they were fully booked and we had a small room and they would try to move us to a bigger room in a couple of days, which we thought was fair enough until we saw the room, we had a 3/4 bed for two friends to sleep in! Luckily for them they had a very kind guest who swapped his twin room for ours the next morning but we still feel that some compensation should be in order. As for the pool that was closed during the hottest part of the day so if we didn't have a car we would have melted! Then to top it off when it was open they were cleaning it and on our last two days it was closed. All in all we really didn't enjoy the hotel Sardinia was good but the manager was just rude to us at every oppourtunity and talking about us to the other guests in italian.

Top Tip

If you stay at this hotel you definately need a car as the pool is closed for 3 hours at lunch and nothing is within walking distance and you will need to be brave to try and cycle down the roads especially and night. Daps is a really reasonable priced but absolutaly delicious restaurant right near the beach and for ice cream you have to go to the old town the chocolate is to die for.
