lovely view of the sea, clean rooms and balcolnies
Top Tip
Get bus tickets from the greengrocer next to the Pizzaria aquarro - this is for the orange bus to Alghero and the airport.

Really nice place, but would like a cooked breakfast if possible. Also, the air conditioning system needs to be drastically improved, as it is very noisy, and reduces the temperature by a few degrees at most. Other than that the standard is very pleasing

There is a lovely green grocer in the village, and the beach nearby is very clean and nice

We hired a car for the week which I thought essential for the location as not enough to do at Fertilia, however, it was a good central location.
Fertilias history makes it quite unique but the locals were very friendly and seemed to enjoy life which made it quite an endearing place.
Plenty of nice beaches to either side of Fertilia.
Not a lot of choice of restuarants etc.
Hotel Bellavista was good value for money and the buffet breakfast was better than quite a lot I have experienced in other areas of Europe.
Top Tip
Definitely would recommend a car for all or part of your stay.
If hiring a car be careful where you park. There seems to be not a lot of respect for other peoples vehicles.

The hotel was very clean and quiet with wonderful staff. The rooms are large, but furnished cheaply and very basic (take your travel kettle)
The Breakfast is a basic continental, cereal/yoghurt/croissant/jams/bread/ham/cheese/juice/coffee/tea but plentiful and the staff are only too happy to replenish anything that has run out... This hotel is located in a very quiet village of private villas/homes on the shore (not sandy beach). Its cornered on a small street with quiet bars and restaurants.
2 mins by car/15 minutes walk to quiet sandy beaches and 5 mins by car/45 minute walk to the busy bustling town of Alghero
It is a great location if you have a car.

The Hotel is situated in Fertilia and NOT Alghero. A V.small town (port)which needs transport to get in or out of! It is close to the Airport making it the first stop along the way. The whole area needs upgrading hotel included. We were disapointed.however,The Bed linen and rooms are pristine, making it main reason we stayed on.The breakfast is basic with various packages of cold toast& crossients with limited supply (depending who stays-3 groups of kids while we were there)of fresh bread, cheese, ham, yogurts & milk - go early!it's value for money if your just using it as a base and out all day. This is a good location if you want a quiet village, and not close to Alghero centre.

The walk from Alghero town to Fertilia along the beach is gorgeous. There is a lovely little restaurant Il Pacro? its sign posted, which do delicious Pizza and local wines. Do hire a car either through reception or at airport. We went with a local company 'Sardinia Hire' who arranged everything from Hotel. Plenty of beautiful places to see. Seems Race Car drivers, drive Puntos...

the beds were ridiculously small and uncomfortable. The bar was hardly ever open. The receptionist didn't know (or couldn't be bothered to give out information on buses etc.) Other staff good. Stay at another hotel or try to rent an appartment.
Top Tip
Try to talk to local people, they were very friendly. The Sbis bar also does excellent food. Buses run on time. Boats when they feel like it.

You need a car. Alghero is a good two miles distant, but the hotel, though very 'basic', has stunning views and a very reasonably priced restaurant. Staff speak enough English but, maybe because of this, may appear impersonal. Excellent bar/cafe close by, cash machine just around the corner. Rooms apparently very hot in midsummer but great when we went late September.
Top Tip
Drive from Alghero to Bosa is beautiful, and Bosa worth a stop. Fertilla, where the hotel is sited is slightly seedy, but a fascinating relic of 1930s modernist architecture. Big car park in Alghero as you approach the marina, so parking wasn't difficult. Old town and walls excllent, as is a trip to Castelsardo. Beware driving through Sassari - got lost in the rush hour.

Basic hotel, not your basic tourist hotel like on package holiday but what it lacks in facilities makes up for with views of bay, staff friendliness and cleanliness. A bit out of the way from Alghero, but a local bus runs every hour. Would recommend if you want to total relax or want somewhere a bit way out but with access to Alghero. If you get the bus, you must buy your tickets from little greengrocer around the corner (70 cents each way) ask for return if want to come back. When you get on the bus put ticket in the machine, you cant buy tickets on the bus and if a Sunday buy Sunday morning as shop is shut PM. A taxi is 20 euros from Alghero-very expensive. There is a bus which goes from the village square to airport but not as frequent. same price. Again taxi 18 euros. Nice snack bar around the corner from hotel which is popular with locals and reasonable. Does lovely pizza. The village is quite traditional,it is basic with only one small supermarket and a greengrocer plus couple of bars only. However views are lovely. Alghero about an hours walk along the coast, passing some nice beaches on the way.
Top Tip
If you are wanting duty free buy at a supermarket in Alghero as no duty free at airport which unfortunately we found out too late. Lovely place, nice people and scenery. Well recommended. Sea is clear and beautiful.
